Over the last few weeks we have heard from so many friends that they have been praying for us. We have been going through some amazing and BIG changes for our family. Changes that we have been preparing for for years. We always tell the kids that with anything you choose comes some exciting things and some sad things. Things we get to look forward to and things we are sad that we wont get to do anymore. Its is ok and healthy to process through this. Better if you have someone to walk beside you to make the change easier, but totally ok.
So we would like to tell all of you that we have sold our beloved Al. He is the place that we have lived at the longest. He is our home that has kept our family together, our marriage together, our sights on what God wants us to do, and has allowed us to see some amazing places. We would not trade our time in Al for anything! Living in him taught us so much and I know we will see the affects for years and years to come. So with this change comes big things. We have heavy hearts saying goodbye to our home. Tears. BUT we have so much to look forward too. This family has found a home without wheels. Abigail is beyond excited to have a bigger bed and a space of her own. I am excited to have a bedroom! I have made and put away my bed 3,754 times while living in Al. I can not wait till I can just decide to go to bed and it will be there waiting for me. (ok fine James makes the bed every night for us) We will always have the pictures of our nomad years to look back on, and the stories oh man we have quite a large amount of stories! There is not much that we cant say "we've been there" to anymore!
We will be heading up to Portland, OR to pack up our belongings. We do not own very much so it shouldn't take to long. For that I am so thankful cause lets be honest everyone hates to move! This has been well planned. When we were in Portland last we were able to go through our stuff in storage and repack it so that when the big day finally came we were ready. We will get to visit with family and say our goodbyes. They will be bittersweet like the rest of the move. We will be getting a Matson container delivered and then we get to pack it.... some of you know that this means a big move. No U-haul this time around. We are getting to ship this container of our belongings to Maui, Hawaii! Land of summer. And we are so ready! Maui has been on our hearts for years. It has had so much time prayed over it, so many family discussions. We do not know how long we will be over there, or if God has plans to move us along. We haven't been given that puzzle piece yet. But we will enjoy the time that we are given. We will do as we are asked. For now that includes Hawaii. I cant tell you the excitement the kids had when we told them that we were finally going to the thing we have talked about and prayed about for years. After Portland we will be headed to Seattle for a few days. We are driving up the cars for shipping. We would love to get together with you while we are up that way. Not sure when the next time will be when we are in the area, so please let us know as we wont be there for very long.
God has been planning a good work in us for years. 9 years ago he put it on our hearts to get our finances in order so that we could do things for his kingdom and not just try to stay afloat. We followed through and took financial classes. Since then we have been very careful with what he has provided. He says to be good stewards and we try to apply that in all areas of our lives. He then placed it in our hearts to own a small business. Something that we can do with the kids still around us. (we love hanging out with these little people of ours) We have gone through and prayed over quiet a few ideas. One definitely stuck out farther than the others. We headed in that direction and the puzzle pieces have just fallen into place. We know this is of God. So for now I will just leave you with this picture. I will do another blog post on what it means another day. Don't want to give you too much information to chew over.
We know that many of you have played a part in Gods plan for us. We couldn't have done it without you! We have also let a few of you in on our secret. You have walked this road with us, praying right along us, and encouraged us when we have been overwhelmed. We cant thank you enough. It takes a village and ours is amazing! Even if you are spread out all over the US.
Luke 17:6 If you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can say to this mulberry tree 'be uprooted and planted in the sea' and it will obey you
You just gotta have faith and lots of elbow grease, then watch God work. It Is Amazing people, amazing I tell you!
