Linus was telling us the other day that when he grows up he will get his own rv and park it right next to Al. So close that the doors are going to touch! So that we can visit with each other all the time.. It was so funny because little to his knowledge not everyone lives and travels in an rv. So it got me thinking of how small they were when we uprooted them and started traveling. Here is our first move. We moved down to Cali to do a job and we rented a home. So the first move included a uhaul....
Look at those baby faces! So adorable and it feels like such a long time ago. We had no idea that we would upgrade the uhual for a rv and become pros at towing... Well I say we but james does all the towing. I have to this day moved Al a total of 3 feet. Yep 3 feet to be exact! But I do hook him up to the hitch every time we tow :) hey, we are all good at something. So anyway back to the first move. We had always wanted to travel for work and we were finally given the opportunity! So we wrapped up our lives in Washington and headed to the land of eternal sunshine. We loved the new season we had entered into. We spent 6 amazing months in Cali and we were sad when the job came to an end and we found out that we had to move back up to seattle. Our hearts we not ready to move back. We needed a change like no other! So we decided after looking at lots of house rentals that we wanted to buy an rv, move around, see the world that God created. Linus was 1 1/2 years old when we started moving around. He is 6 1/2 now. So this is normal life to him. Moving around. Living small. Home on wheels. Living simply. Meeting new people. Our kids adjust so much easier than they did at the beginning of our moving days. So many less tears these days. And my how our family has grown. I think we will see the affects of what Al has done for our family for years to come. We see some of it but I am sure God will be revealing it for years to come. And we have seen so much as a family and laughed so hard. I love these little people.
They were babies when we started and they are so grown up now. But always my babies. We love that we have been able to experience all of these new things with our kids. Things that neither of us had seen and we got to see them as a family. Well anyway this was a little walk down memory lane tonight. As I think about Linus being grown up I do hope that he sleeps close to me just not with our doors touching. And I hope that they continue to make me laugh cause they are crazy funny!
