We were asked to love others by Christ. His greatest commandments were to love God and to love others. In doing that you are to go and serve the world. We have taken this on as our family's course. We are a Christ centered home and we are here for 3 things.
3~serve the world.
We do this in our every day life. Any way we can help we do. You can tell by watching the way we live.
Any one who needs love we will take them in and love on them. Our family is quite large and all over the US.
You need a meal then come on over.
You need a place to sleep our home is your home (our home is quite small but we will fit you in, promise)
You need help in any way just ask and if it is in our means we will fulfill that need.
You want to be covered in prayers we will pray for you.
The LGBT community is one of the most oppressed communities out there. So many teens commit suicide because of their fear and the bullying they receive. They need to feel accepted and loved wherever they go. Not looked at differently. They need people to come along side of them and befriend them, love them, invite them over, have them be part of your family.
With that being said this Target bathroom things inst about Transgender people using the restroom. If you use an outhouse then you are using the same pot that everyone under the sun uses. If you use the restroom at someones home you are also using a pot that who knows who has sat on it. It really boils down to the fact that millions of people who shop at target are now feeling unsafe. NOT because of transgender people. BUT because of who will abuse this choice that target has made. People will always abuse laws, it is a given. But Target, and other stores who are making this choice known, need to tell their consumers what they will do to make all of their costumers feel safe. It is up to the parents to teach their children about safety, stranger danger, yell if you are in danger, run away fast and where to go... But the store needs to let their costumers know that they are important to them by telling them what they will do to help keep them safe. Safe from the people who will abuse this choice. This means keeping kids, women, men, transgender... all safe. What will Target do to keep out the people who will abuse this choice? This should have been in their statement. The parents who shop there should not worry about their kids going to the restroom and finding someone in there who shouldn't be. We will not be shopping there again until they have addressed this. I need to feel safe sending my little people to the restroom. if they can not find a way then they need to make their bathrooms into family ones, individual rooms with locking doors. How long before something awful happens and Target gets sued for not providing a safe environment?
This is not a blog post about the danger of transgender people. They are not any more dangerous than you or I am. If you have read that then you need to go back and reread the blog post. Put your argument down and listen to a concerned parent.
Christ did not put us here to judge others. This is not our job. Our job is to love others. Show them what Christs heart is. He did not come and live with the church members. He came and lived with the oppressed. He would not be in church if he came back today but down in the homeless camps, with the lonely, the LGBT community, the fatherless.... this then is where we should be. This is where we will be. Being Christ hands and feet. We will stand by the oppressed. We will NOT stand by Targets decision.
